Dream Big – Act on It Daily

Now that Get Real 2017 is out of the way, it’s time for a real chat. I’m back in Dallas, Texas, and I’m more motivated and inspired than ever before. Can you believe another amazing event has come and gone? It was wonderful meeting so many of you at the event, and getting to hear many stories of what Neora has meant to you. Ever since Get Real, I’ve been thinking about how different my life would have been without the incredible people I’ve met because of Neora. This had me thinking about all the “what ifs” in life.

Picture This

Imagine what the world would have looked like if no one had the courage to pursue their dreams. What do you think would have happened if Walt Disney gave up on his dream after being rejected by a publishing house because he lacked imagination? Or what if Oprah Winfrey didn’t overcome her troubled, tragic, and difficult childhood to become one of the richest and most influential women in the world? The list of people who have achieved great things despite struggling initially is long. In fact, most successful people become successful by failing many times, until they eventually succeed. What if your name is supposed to be on that list of extraordinary people, and all you have to do is take the first step?

What Ifs

I’m sure, at some point in time, you’ve had thoughts like this before: What if I started my career when I was younger or what if I had more time and money? We can come up with hundreds of excuses to not step out of our comfort zone and take a risk. The thing is, those people we tout as “successful,” “lucky” or “talented” … they are just the ones who make a DECISION daily to step outside of their comfort zones. You see, you accomplish a goal by daily decisions, not by a Hail Mary pass, a stroke of good luck, or one brilliant idea. Success is a daily choice. Every day you are going to get to decide to stay within your comfort zone – or step outside of it to work towards your goal.

That’s where Neora comes in. We’ve never wanted to be just a skin care or wellness company. Our goal has been to create an opportunity available to people from all walks of life. An opportunity to have the life you’ve always envisioned. And the key to living your dream life is taking those daily steps to get to your goal.

Dare to Dream Big (and 3 Tips to Get You Started)

Easier said than done, right? Many of you’ve already defined your dream or goal. When you close your eyes, you can see it – it’s within reach. You know what you want and you’re putting in a lot of time and effort to achieve exactly what you set out to do whether that’s a flexible lifestyle or financial independence. I wanted to give you a few tips to get you started or keep you on the right track.

Tip #1: The Right People

I can’t stress this enough. “Surround yourself with people who believe in your dreams, encourage your ideas, and support your ambitions.” This quote by British author Roy Bennett says it all. In those moments when you feel like a failure or that nothing’s going your way, your support needs to be, well, supportive. I made the decision to be an executive and a mom. I am passionate about the work I do, and passionate about my family and daughter but it can be a tough balancing act some days. On the days where I feel like nothing is going right- I turn to the encouragers in my life, my cheer squad, that can uplift me and redirect my focus on the positive. Who is your cheer squad? Know who they are and don’t be afraid to lean on them as needed!

Tip #2: Expand Your Comfort Zone

I believe that all individuals are born equal. It’s true that some people may encounter more obstacles than others but those obstacles can be used as fuel to propel you to success. If you want to succeed bad enough, you’ll find a way. Most of the time, the way to optimal performance is to step into discomfort and uncertainty. If you’re scared about your next venture or some challenge, my advice is to take a risk, and do it anyway!

Tip #3: Celebrate Your Failures

Think of it this way: if you’ve tried and failed, at least you tried, and you probably learned a lot from that experience. Each time you fail, consider it a lesson learned. Learn from it and move on because with every baby step you’re one step closer to reaching your goal.

This is all so true. The quality of friends now since I’ve joined Neora is nothing like before. It really is life changing to surround yourself with people that lift you up. When I started they kept telling me PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT!! I thought this is a bunch of craziness, they aren’t going to brainwash me LOL. Boy was I SO WRONG!!! Fast forward 2 1/2 years…. I crave my 10 minutes a day!! It really has changed me into a better person, a HAPPY person even when things around me are going wrong.

Talk about being scared about my next venture or some challenge, I will take your advice to take a risk, and do it anyway!
The best thing I have learned from my time with Neora is that when they tell you they will believe in you until you believe in yourself it is so true! I am still struggling to find that belief, but everyone I have encountered so far gives me that push of confidence I desperately need. Personal Development is so important yet so difficult at the same time. The Slight Edge.

    • One step at a time, one day at a time. Think about the steps you can take today. All the best, Leigh.

I always talk about life and happiness being on the other side of fear! Seeing yourself through it! Feel the fear and do it anyway! I have a well paying JOB, but for a few years now I have not been happy. My circle of influence in that position is small to say the least, but with the utmost respect. I could go on but that is not the important part. This week I was offered a job with a lot of potential, some great benefits and many opportunities!! They even approve of my Nerium business which was a must for me!! The thing is that I have to take a pay cut and that scares me! I have been comfortable and confident in my roles because I have had the funds to do more or less what was easy. I felt that if I was going to be a leader I needed to take my own advise, feel the fear and do it anyway. I a, moving to a new company, in a new industry with less pay (for now) with lots of opportunity to increase it in a very short time!! So I have accepted the position and resigned at my former employers and I am scared, but so excited to see where faith and a step outside my comfort zone will take me! I fell this move will help me grow my Nerium business even more and I couldn’t be more proud of myself for doing what scared me the most, letting go of the comfort and security of a job where I was paid very well but was not able to grow nor did I get enjoyment from!

    • It is definitely a big move and we wish you every success to make your dreams happen! Thank you for sharing, Karen.

Amber…I find it startling that we tend to be drawn to negative people and allow them to keep us in what we call our comfort zone but it is really not comfortable at all. I have experienced this while building my business. The personal development Neora fosters is such an important tool and luxurious gift. My dream and goal is to have 10 women alongside me in this journey, growing in their finances and inner strength, and then turning around and doing the same with their 10. I have been one of those who has faced and overcome many mountains, many times alone, and have a deep desire to guide others onto a more fulfilling and purposeful life path, with Neora navigating my way. Thank you.

    • Thank you for your commitment to making your dreams happen, Diane. Continue to lead by personal example for your team and your prospects, and reach out to fellow Brand Partner leaders for encouragement as well.
