8 Tips for Fall Fitness

Swimsuit and beach season is over, but Fall is the perfect time to adjust your routine, reflect inward, and cozy up! You don’t need to wait until January 1st to make a change, get a head start this Fall! How can you take advantage of all the things this new season has to offer?

Layer Up for the New Weather

When the weather starts to cool down, it can deter you from going outside to workout. Try dressing in wind-shielding and moisture-wicking clothing and in layers. You may feel chilly when you first begin your outdoor workout, but once your heart rate rises, you’ll quickly warm up and want to shed the layers. Your head and feet are the first two places that lose heat first, so wear warm socks and bring a hat with you!

Enjoy the Fall Foliage

One of the most beautiful things about Fall is the foliage. It’s a great reason to take some time out of your day to be outdoors. Go outside to admire all of the changing colors and take in the fresh, crisp air before Winter sets in.

Take Your Workout Indoors

There are plenty of activities you can do outside with cooler weather including finding trails, hikes, cycling, and apple or pumpkin picking. If you live near a beach, it’s a great time to take advantage of going to the beach with it being less packed. If snow sets early in your area, you can snowshoe or ski!

Workout With a Friend

Be smart about working out outdoors when the sun begins to set. Having a friend with you can not only keep you safe, but also accountable for daily exercise! Remember to wear reflective workout clothes and carry a flashlight.

Vary Activities

The transition from Summer to Fall can cause you difficulty to stay motivated. Try varying your workouts so that they stay fresh. It’s a great time to switch up your running route or experience new types of fitness that are not typically part of your regiment. Check out new group fitness classes or swim indoors! Group fitness classes are also a great way to meet new friends.

Stock Up and Savor Fall Produce

If you have a local farmer’s market, that’s where you’ll find the season’s freshest produce while supporting local businesses! It’s a great time to explore new recipes using Fall produce. What are some foods that you should try? Figs, pumpkins, apples, squash, cranberries, and sweet potatoes.

Boost Your Immune System

NeoraFit is easy to incorporate into all of your Fall plans because it comes individually packed and portioned, making it easy to carry with you on the go! With flu season being in its peak, it is important to stay hydrated throughout the day. You can also cozy up at home with some hot tea and mix in Neora’s Calm + Cleanse to soothe. Make sure you eat plenty of foods with vitamins and probiotics (Neora’s Block + Balance Pre & Probiotic easily dissolves in water and lemon flavored). Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and zinc are also great supplements to add during Fall.

Set Realistic Expectations

Set goals that you can achieve. Goals are important, but you need to stay motivated on a daily basis. We are all uniquely motivated by different things, so discover what inspires you the most. Understand your “why” and identify your support method. Then, create goals that are challenging, but achievable. Some ideas for goals include trying a new workout each week, running 3x a week, and cooking at home 4x a week.
